INSPIRED POETRY
INSPIRED POETRY
Our lead Minister, Wendy Barrow, has been writing poetry since her youth. In recent years the Lord has been downloading words to her and has prompted her to share them as an encouragement to others. We hope these poems are a blessing to you.
IDENTITY
By Minister Wendy Barrow
I am who God says I am
But who is that?
Who am I?
Who does God say I am?
I look in the mirror and see
Someone looking back at me
Who is that?
Who can that be?
After all these years
Living with me
I still don’t know me
God, help me
Do you know me?
My identity
Am I as foreign to you,
as I am to me?
Who occupies this body?
Who occupies my mind?
Do you?
God, your Word says
You loved me first
Before I was born
You loved me when
You loved me then
Before I was me
Before I saw you
You knew me
As I search for You
As I search for me
I find me in You
If I’m right and I know that I am because of Your revelation
The greater One lives in me
Allows me to be
Free
I am loved
Have peace and victory
COUNTING ON YOU
By Minister Wendy Barrow
I’ve prayed every prayer
Cried every tear
Done all I know what to do
Today, I lay down my heart
Give you my all
Dear God, it’s over to you
FROM THE BEGINNING
By Minister Wendy Barrow
God spoke
His word came alive
Inexistence came into existence
Invisible became visible
Abstract took form
Purpose performed
Destiny made reality
Because of God the master
The potter and the clay
Out of nothing came everything
His handiwork, a masterpiece for all to see
From earth, sun, sea to humanity
Animals and all vegetation, His creation
Each beautiful in His sight
But try as we might not to, we sinned
Messed up
Took our eyes off Him
And the enemy slithered in
Eve, deceived
Adam disobeyed
But our God had a plan
He gave Moses the ten Commandments
And knowing we’d need more
He sent His Son, the Holy One
From Mary’s divine conception, to Jesus’ resurrection
History shaping
Ground-breaking
Life-changing
Hope defined in one man
Who walked the earth
Spread the Good News
With Him you never loose
One with the Father
Full of compassion
Jesus brought hope
Preacher
Teacher
Revealer
Healer
Gave His life
Paid the price
A living sacrifice
That day on the cross
He saved us lost
At unfathomable cost
His life exchanged for yours and mine
It’s time
Surrender
Let Him in
Admit your sin
Ask forgiveness
Once that’s done
There’s release, peace
Unimaginable joy
As a matter of fact
Because of Jesus’ selfless act
Undying love
We’re restored
One with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit
Together, triune, triumphant
Creator, Saviour and Friend
Three in One and One in Three
No longer a mystery
They in you and you in them
Sound the trumpet
The children of God’s kingdom are marching in
